[The phone picks up, but there's a few moments of shuffling and the moving of things as Quinn drags the phone to the garage. Sadly no one has told him he can filter his calls.]

Hey guys! It's come to my attention that some folks 'round here like usin' swords. While I ain't the fightin' type, I can tell why ya'd want somethin' like that around, 'specially if ya ain't used to guns or whatever.

So, I've decided that I'm gonna build somethin' like a forge! I figure, the only thing we got in Mayfield in the way of scrap metal is cars, right? So, we've got access to a lot of steel and chrome and such. We can probably make some lightweight, tough swords for ya'll! Like katanas, I guess.

Here's where ya'll come in. While I can build a whole lotta stuff, swords are new to me. I'm lookin' for someone who knows stuff like how to design 'em. Get the weight and size right, stuff I can use for the hilts, things like that! Computers are my specialty really, but I do pretty good buildin' other stuff too. So if you're interested, ya can call me back, but it's probably better if ya just come over to the garage at 339 Brady Lane, cuz that's where I'll be. If ya got any spare metal or whatever, bring that along. I'm not expecting payment, but some company, some supplies or maybe even some snacks or somethin' would be great! Thanks, guys.

[If you stop by, Quinn will be merrily dismantling parts in his garage, his laptop set up and playing music like usual - but at an acceptable volume level this time.]

You know what you should really make? Magic rods. If you do it right, anyone can pick them up and cast magic with 'em.

Like magic wands? Ya mean ya actually use those? I've heard of it in my world, but it's kinda antiquated. 'Fraid to say it, but I don't know much about 'em. And in Mayfield, I don't have anyone in my family to ask about them.

Not wands. Staves and rods. What kind of mage uses a wand? It's alright. You can just ask me! The one I've got right now makes mana arrows.

Staves, huh? Well makin' those from steel would be heavy... maybe I'll use some of this chrome, though I don't know if that'd be much better. Bring 'em by sometime, I'll see what I can do!

As long as I have a base I can make you a stable design. Broadsword, shortsword, longsword - I can make you a fresh design if I have a base of what you exactly want.

Well, I've been using swords for years, and I know a good one when I see it. And I'm no blacksmith, but I can make a decent blade with the right materials...steel isn't much, though. [And he's got no idea what chrome is at all.] Orichalcum or damascus are usually the best you can get, if you know where to find them...but I haven't seen anything like that around here.

Depends! People probably want all kindsa swords. Broadswords, katanas... well, Berwald asked me for a battle axe! And Dist and Theta want to use the forge to make parts to build other things. We got quite the li'l business goin' here!
