17th Fix

[Thanks to being at stage three, Quinn really messed stuff up with his best friend in town. He's wrestling with a lot of feelings that a chill and in-control guy like him never deals with normally, and still being under the secret-blurting effect, really wants to get this off his chest to someone. The problem is that he doesn't know who to go to, and he doesn't really want to start blurting out more secrets and ruining more friendships today. Oh, but he really does want to talk, doesn't he? Thanks, Mayfield.

What Quinn will be up to:

A) In the garage at home, doors open, playing with all his electronics as usual. There's music playing, but it's not blaring this time. The ashtray on his table is overflowing with cigarette butts. Quinn's just making himself look busy, tinkering around with no real goal in mind. He'll be using his technomancy, talking to his electronics about his problems, but they don't really get it.

B) He'll be stopping in to check on his buddy Scott Pilgrim, who, from the last call he made, sounded pretty bad off. Knock knock at 2242 Stevens Road.

C) Out at the grocery store, restocking on cigarettes. And maybe some beer. And keeping his head town to hopefully avoid people! Quinn looking nervous and worried is pretty unusual to anyone who knows him.

D) At night, Quinn's at the park, laying at the grass and looking up at the stars. His laptop is next to him, and he has his headphones phones on and a cigarette in his mouth. This is his best idea on how to shut off both the world and his mind for awhile, but that doesn't prevent anyone from approaching him.

Okay, well, uh, the game is like, a puzzle game. First person. And the tests you're running a-are the puzzles we the player have to get through using the portal gun and stuff. B-But it's pretty evident through the whole game that you're... corrupted or something and you killed everyone in Aperture and at the end the objective is to destroy you, and you play as that woman and there's all the stuff like the sentries and the cake and neurotoxin and I swear it's just a game and I don't know all your dark secrets or anything, please don't kill me!

[Thinking that over and not really paying attention to what she says next.]

Oh stop begging. I'm not going to kill you. I'd never hear the end of it if I killed you for that.

[The ideas he was talking about was strange though. A game...she supposed the women must be Chell....and of course the objective...]

And the objective is to murder me. What a pleasant game.

Yeah, well, ya kinda went nuts and killed a buncha people, while putting the main character through hideous tests.

[He hangs his head now.] Like I said though, where I'm from, a lot of people are from games, movies, and I mean for God's sake, Bugs Bunny lives in town. Makes ya wonder.

And there's nothing wrong with my tests. They're just ...slightly lethal at times.

Look, I honestly don't wanna argue on it. The whole situation has been freakin' me out since I first met you, but I was too damn scared to do anythin' cuz I didn't want ya to find out 'n' try to kill me.

Actually, that was more curiosity than anythin'. I couldn't even imagine what ya needed my help for. That, and I'll never miss the chance to talk to somethin' new.

But...if you try anything or if I find out something happened to her and you're responsible... I don't think Caroline will mind if I introduce you to a good friend of mine. His name is 'deadly nuerotoxin' and he just loves meeting new people.
